Scuba Regulator
Deep-sea diving for longer period will not be possible without the scuba regulators. A diaphragm-type first stage regulator has the complexity in design and components than the piston-type. On the contrary, it is more advantageous to use when the durability calibration comes in. It does not corrode and it is good to be used in dirty and muddy waters.
Both types of first-stage regulator function as the gas-releaser and pressure-converter when the diver needs the correct amount of pressure for breathing. However, the complexity of the diaphragm regulator infers its cost to acquire than the piston-type regulator.
The second stage requires a device that will regulate the flow of gas by manipulating an on and off switch at the tank. A device for this stage may be manual or automatically operated demand valve.
Several types of scuba diving regulators are invented to fit the needs of scuba divers for inhaling and exhaling under water. Some are automatically operated and digitally designed to increase the likelihood of usability, convenience and of course the technology in marine products.
The materials in the fabrication of scuba regulator should be durable and non-corrosive to last for a long time. The usual metals for scuba regulator are titanium, stainless steel and brass. The titanium is a more durable material for scuba regulator device for the fact that it is a non-corrosive and hard metal. However, it is more expensive than the brass or stainless metals.
Scuba regulator is costly to acquire. The complexity to manufacture, type of materials used and the demand for the product are common factors of this high-value scuba item.
